Shalini Somchand

Shalini joined Hollyport as a Fund Accountant in March 2020, based in the London office. Her role involves monitoring the performance of the Hollyport funds, processing incoming financial and capital account statements and updating monitors with the latest information. Shalini works closely with both the investment team and the investor relations team to provide data and contribute to internal papers. Shalini is currently working on her MS Excel skills and studying towards her ACCA. She’ll be fully qualified in 2024.

Shalini studied Economics at the University of Birmingham and has completed level 3 of AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians). Outside of work, Shalini enjoys travelling. She’s visited 20 different countries within Europe and would love to complete the whole continent within the next five years.

James Wang

James joined Hollyport in 2019 as an Associate in the investment team in London.  His role includes developing, modelling, and formulating the investment thesis for potential transactions, and supporting with the legals and transfer processes for successful deals. He reaches out to fund managers and potential vendors to source business and build relationships.

Prior to joining Hollyport, James started his career in the audit and assurance department at Ernst & Young where he obtained his Chartered Accountant qualification. He has a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Warwick and a Master of Finance from University of Cambridge. He also speaks Mandarin.

James was born in China but has lived in the UK since he was nine. In his free time, he enjoys trekking and climbing, and trying new recipes in the kitchen. He also loves being a parent and spending time with his young daughter.

Arthur Wong

Arthur joined Hollyport in 2019, and is a Senior Associate in the London investment team where he is responsible for originating and evaluating LP and GP-led transactions. This role involves all aspects of the investment appraisal process, from modelling the transaction to legal support and the transfer process, managing the project team and workflow. In his time at Hollyport, Arthur has developed his negotiation skills and continues to build strong relationships with market participants.

Arthur began his career as a management consultant in PwC, where he performed fair value assessments on private companies and assets across Europe, US and Asia and advised private equity and corporate clients on transaction prices.

Arthur studied at the University of Cambridge and has achieved his ICAEW Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA). He speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. Outside of the office, you’ll often find Arthur on the tennis court.

Olivia Clogg

Olivia joined Hollyport in October 2019 as an Office Assistant, and was promoted to Office Manager and EA in 2023. She is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office, including the management of supplier relationships and IT support. She manages diaries for the wider team, supporting Partners with their travel and meeting schedules as well as the planning of internal and external events.

Olivia studied at the Oxford Media and Business School. Prior to joining Hollyport she was a Studio and Project Team Assistant for industrial designer Marc Newson.

Outside of work Olivia loves being with friends and hosting dinner parties. At the weekend you’ll either find her on the touchline of a rugby pitch or trawling charity shops for a bargain.

Katy Lynch

Katy joined Hollyport in 2016 as Office Manager, and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2022 before becoming a Vice Principal in 2024. She works closely with all areas of the business on operational processes, managing the firm’s IT systems and cybersecurity and taking a lead role in maintaining and developing the CRM system.

As part of the administration function, Katy works alongside the office managers in London and New York to streamline support processes and coordinate policies across the company. She is currently expanding her management and leadership skills as part of her continued professional development.

Katy has a BA in Italian from the University of Bristol. In her free time she enjoys getting outside to run, cycle, or catch up with friends. She travels to Italy as often as possible, visiting her favourite places and discovering new ones.

Catherine Badour

Catherine is a Partner and head of the Investor Relations function, focussing on the development of institutional client relationships and investor relations. She joined Hollyport in January 2014 as an Associate.

Before joining Hollyport, Catherine worked in primary research and due diligence for Private Equity and Hedge Fund clients at Coleman Research in London.

Catherine holds a degree in Political Science from Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada, which included a semester at Université Jean Moulin Lyon III, France, and a MSc. International Political Economy from the London School of Economics; she is fluent in French.

Scott Lomas

Scott is a Vice Principal in our London office and heads up the Portfolio, Data & Analytics team. He joined Hollyport in 2018 as a Fund Accountant before carving out a niche for himself in analysis – eventually creating and building the Portfolio, Data & Analytics function at Hollyport. Scott and his team are focused on portfolio level data; the systems that obtain and store this data, and leveraging both internal and external data to provide insights to the wider company.

Scott has a Masters in Chemistry from the University of St Andrews, which included a placement year developing hydrogen fuel cell technology in Norway, following which he taught mathematics for two years prior to joining Hollyport. During his time at Hollyport, Scott has successfully studied for his ACCA qualification as well as a Bachelors in Applied Accounting.

Outside of the office, Scott is a grade 8 pianist and enjoys the outdoors and fishkeeping. His interests also include railways, cars, and anything old, mechanical, and oily.

Peter Adentan

Peter joined Hollyport’s London office as a Finance Associate in 2017. He is responsible for the audit, tax, investor reporting, and overall operations of Hollyport’s funds. His role includes managing liquidity, capital flows, and ensuring compliance with ESG and UN PRI standards.

Peter works closely with the investment and investor relations teams on key projects, strengthens internal processes, and ensures smooth fund operations. He is also responsible for supporting the development of junior finance team members.

Before joining Hollyport, Peter was a Finance Business Partner at Dixons Carphone, advising senior management on margin-driving activities and forecasting. He holds a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Hertfordshire and is a CIMA Chartered Management Accountant.

A former rugby player, Peter now enjoys various fitness challenges and has a keen interest in road cycling. His competitive spirit and love for teamwork continue to drive him in his fitness pursuits.

Mei Chan

Mei is a Partner and leads the Finance and Compliance functions, based in the London office.

Mei joined Hollyport in 2017 as Head of Finance, where she led the growing team of fund accountants in the finance and administration activities of the investment funds, including investor reporting, fund structuring and portfolio monitoring. In addition, she served as the firm’s Compliance Officer and ESG lead working on both the investment policy as well internal initiatives.

Mei qualified as an ACA with HW Fisher & Company, and post qualification worked at Ingenious Investments where she was responsible for the financial management and reporting of their media investment funds – their largest business division with £2billion AUM at the time. Mei graduated from Glasgow University with an honours degree in Accounting and Finance.

Mei grew up in Glasgow and speaks fluent Cantonese. She has two young children and to relax, she enjoys practising yoga and watching crime documentaries.

Ronan Curran

Ronan joined Hollyport in 2018, and is a Senior Associate within the investment team in London. His core responsibilities are originating and evaluating potential LP and GP-led transactions, taking a lead role in the project team to mentor the investment associates and form the investment thesis for presentation at Investment Committee. Working at Hollyport has enhanced Ronan’s problem-solving skills, which are central to the way we approach transactions.

Prior to joining Hollyport, Ronan completed an accountancy training contract in the banking and capital markets assurance department at Ernst & Young.

Ronan studied Economics at the University of Nottingham, and holds an MSc in International Management from the London School of Economics. Outside of work, you’ll find Ronan playing and watching a variety of sports.
